Video Creator
“If we don’t take care of the customer, somebody else will!”
This person will report directly to the Director of Video Production.
The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
Videography
- Provide videography for weekly Experiment of the Week video (currently “Sick Science” videos)
- Provide with on-site videography for events, product demonstration, etc
- Provide with on-location videography for events, etc
- Continue to learn the latest video recording techniques from the industry
Video Editing
- Edit weekly Experiment of the Week video (currently “Sick Science” videos)
- Edit all video assets on a per project basis
- Ensure videos are produced in a timely manner and/or by their required date
- Continue to learn the latest video editing techniques from the industry
- Provide finished videos in multiple formats with best compression possible (H.264, mpeg2, Quicktime, wmv, etc)
Motion Graphics
- Create motion graphics, special and visual effects for videos on a per project basis
Online Video Channel Management
- Maintain the various channels through which videos are distributed
- Upload and maintain videos across various channels
- Upload weekly Experiment of the Week at the designated date and time
- Maintain a video channel database to know which videos are on each channel.
- Identify problems with existing video content and make suggestions for improvement
Video Distribution
- Create interactive DVDs using Photoshop and Motion menus
- Assist in the creation of DVD insert for DVD case
- Assist in the creation of a label to be printed on DVD
- Burn DVDs for production and special instances
Asset Management
- Maintain the organization of the video production department
- Maintain assets within cataloging Database
- Keep detailed logs of content on all tapes in cataloging Database

- Get Video link
- Embed in a new video page on site
- Ingest 9News footage into cataloging database
YouTube Management
- Upload Experiment of the Week video
- Monitor all comments
- Upload 9News videos
- Upload Legacy videos
- Upload Product Demonstrations
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with additional Photoshop and design work
- Troubleshoot video related problems
- Perform other similar or related duties as necessary
- Standard Office Hours of 8 AM to 5 PM may vary
