Urgent Request

My name is Kathi McKnight and my cell phone number is 393-668-1850. I am presenting a film oppty to 2 camera persons to film me speaking next Wednesday up in Boulder to a group of about 50-70 business women

I am a professional graphologist - aka expert handwriting analyst- and have an event planner wishing to see me speak to a large group of people (as in a speaking demo)

I am looking for 2 camera persons possibly 3, to get audience shots and reactions and also to capture me speaking for an hour to an hour and a half.

I don't necessarily need the speaking demo done as much as I simply need to capture the speaking event on film.

Right now this would be a position of opportunity and exposure. It is not a paying position. However I will include a full handwriting session to both camera persons ($199 value) and you should be informed that the exposure for their work and repertoire holds huge potential. I have been contacted and written up in the Washington Post and sent Obama's handwriting, I've been on FOX TV, featured in Real Simple Magazine and Teen Magazine and much more.

Please contact me for more details at your earliest convenience. I am looking for your best students to give them this opportunity.

Kind Regards,

I need crew and sets for my movie shooting Oct. 2-8 in Denver and the mountains

We are shooting Friday, October 2nd, through Thursday, October 8th. We will be filming in Denver, Glenwood Springs, and Rifle.

This is a feature length film called "The Hunters" about a group of cavemen (and women) that cross paths with a group of Neanderthals. Hi-jinks ensue as they try to figure out exactly what to make of each other, and how to interact. This will be shot faux-documentary style (Think "Real World" meets "Man vs. Wild"). We will be shooting with four HD cameras.

We are looking for students who are interested in working on a professional set in almost every different capacity. These positions will not be paid, but they will be working with professionals from LA with a wide array of knowledge in every department.

We are looking for people interested in:

Camera Department
Sound Department
Art Department
Production
Directing

We are looking for people with great attitudes and a strong desire to learn and make contacts in the film business. We will provide food and lodging while shooting.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to answer them. Also, if it would be of help, I'm happy to come in and speak with the students about the project or about any other questions they might have regarding the film business.

I can be contacted via email or telephone: michaelhobert@gmail.com (818)-679-0539

My experiences include:

Writing on the Fox show "Til Death"
Producing a feature film starring Victor Garber, Christine Rose, and Sam Jaeger
Producing a short film starring Kate Bosworth
Recurring character on Scrubs and Spin City
Graduate of the USC Film School
And many other positions and roles...

Freelance opportunity for Halloween haunted house

This is a non-paying project. We are all friends and neighbors hosting this haunted house. No sponsors involved.

The recording must be completed by Oct 10th. It will need to be filmed at night being that it is an outdoor haunted house.

We do not have any video equipment so this will need to be provided by the candidate or Colorado Film School.

There will be a total of around 10+ attractions. The layout will be a maze with open areas and 3-4 make shift canopy rooms. Total walk through time should not be longer than 4 minutes.

This would be a 1 day/evening event. It shouldn't take more than an hour to complete.

Looking for a camera/sound person

Project would be to follow around noted food writer Jason Sheehan as he tries to fit in a restaurant kitchen assembly line on a typical night.

It is very low-budget - 8 hours shift for a $150 rate. We would probably need 2 shooters so that would be $150 each.

The format should be mini HD but we¹re flexible. It would be great if we could have someone with their own camera/sound package.

It's going to be shot documentary style so we won¹t need any lighting. The lighting in the kitchen will suffice.

And we're intending to do that sometime mid-September.

Student video request from MapMyRide.com

MapMyRide.com, a sister site of MapMyFitness, Inc., are looking for a talented and willing student to create a 1-3 minute "How To" video on navigating a portion of our website surrounding a Tour de France cycling challenge we are promoting.

The video would show computer, iPhone and BlackBerry navigation, with voiceover of a provided script, and the possibility of a brief animated or acted-out shot of cycling.

We would also like a relatively quick turnover, with the video in-hand by June 8.

I view this as an opportunity for widespread exposure for the student(s) willing to complete this project, as we have over 1 million users on our community-based fitness mapping site.

I've attached a brief flyer explaining a bit more details surrounding the opportunity, and would much appreciate your passing this along to any students you might see willing and able.

The Museo de las Americas would like to announce an exciting film opportunity!

The Museo de las Americas is a small non-profit museum whose mission is dedicated to educating our community about the diversity of Latin American art and culture from ancient to contemporary, through innovative exhibitions and programs. We are planning our annual fundraiser for July 25, 2009 to be held at St. Cajetan's on the Auraria campus.

This year, our fundraiser is going to be focused around the theme, Rojo Kermes.  Traditionally, a kermes is a neighborhood carnival or fair that draws together members of the community in celebration.

Along with this theme, we have the idea that as part of the event we would like to project a film of an acrobat performing onto the ceiling of the event space so that it appears as if an acrobat is performing overhead.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to help us create this unique video art installation!

This would provide a unique opportunity for exposure as you will be recognized in our program and your art piece will be featured in front of our exclusive audience of 200 Denver art supporters.  A small compensation will also be provided.

YOUNG FILMMAKERS’ CONTEST FOR FILM ON HUNGER IN AMERICA

A Nationwide Initiative to Visually Portray Hunger in the United States

"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”

-President Barack Obama (Excerpt from speech following Super Tuesday – February 5, 2008)

About the Project

Palms for Life Fund is calling out to young filmmakers, under 25 years of age, to participate in a competition to visually depict in their communities the growing epidemic of hunger in the United States. This national contest for documentary short films entitled “Faces of Hunger in America” intends to bring the issue of hunger onto the forefront of the nation’s radar screen while at the same time empowering our youth, the future generation of leaders and activists, to facilitate positive change and challenge antiquated principles. Palms for Life will offer cash prizes of up to $10K, and give the winners exposure to a vast audience in a full-length compilation of the prize-winning works.

Why Now

Food needs to be treated as an inalienable basic human right – beyond charity -- and hunger needs to be tackled in its root causes. The short films will increase awareness about hunger, affecting more than 36 million Americans who are unable to access consistently sustainable amounts of food for a healthy life. Of this population, over 12.4 million are children, left to suffer the physical, mental and emotional consequences of daily life without the most basic human needs.

Who We Are

After 30 years of service with the United Nations World Food Programme, Hannah Laufer-Rottman founded Palms for Life Fund to continue raising awareness and financial support for all those living in impoverished conditions around the globe. By providing food and education to those in need, Palms for Life Fund helps create new livelihood opportunities to people around the world. For more information, please go to: www.palmsforlifefund.org.

How to Participate

All entrants must submit a non-fiction short film between 5-12 minutes in length, accompanied by an artist statement of no more than 300 words. This contest is only open to U.S. Citizens, between the ages of 16 – 25.

If you are interested in participating in the contest, please add your name to our mailing list by visiting www.palmsforlifefund.org and clicking on “Hunger Projects – Faces of Hunger in America.”
