Internship Opportunity with Explorati Teen Film & Theater Camp

PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY  -  SUMMER 2011

1.              Title and Description of Organization:  Explorati Teen Film & Theater Camp

Explorati Teens is a non-profit youth arts and literacy organization sponsored by Bas Bleu Theatre in Fort Collins, CO.  Our mission is to connect Northern Colorado teens 12-18 with the arts via community-building, confidence-inspiring summer day camps featuring professional-level writing, acting, and film and theater crafts education.

The Explorati Teens Film & Theater Camp is our brand new endeavor.  This four day camp, July 25-28, 2011, is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for teens to choose their own artistic track:  Film Crew, Film Acting, Theater Crew and Theater Acting.

We are partnered with Bas Bleu Theatre and the Colorado Film School, and our Colorado Film School instructor Kyle Harris, actor and esteemed film acting coach Tomas Herrera,  Bas Bleu’s own technical director Michael Gorgan, and Stage Acting coach, Andrew Miller.  We are also tapping senior film students from CFS to be teacher-interns for our film crew, to help guide the process and mentor the teen techies.

By working with professionals, Explorati Teens delivers an unparalleled program packed with real world skills, plus personal, leadership and team development.  From writing to production, the camp will be entirely youth-driven.  Our actors will take on the challenge of learning fundamentals, memorizing lines and blocking, rehearsing and performing their roles in a matter of days.  Our techies will be responsible for building sets, compiling costumes and props, hanging lights, recording sound, directing the photography and stage managing and/or assistant directing the productions.  This is an on-the-job training opportunity!

Please go to our website for more information.  www.exploratiteens.com

This is an exceptional opportunity to mentor young filmmakers as well as develop personal teaching skills.  Each CFS intern will be in charge of their own day’s lessons and will oversee a specific job (i.e., sound recording, cinematography, lighting, props and costumes, etc.) and the teens who are assigned to the task.

Pre-production and curriculum-planning hours are set at 10, and on set teaching is approximately 30 hours, including the extended final day of camp, when we present our finished film and one-acts to a public audience at Bas Bleu Theatre for the Fourth Night Presentation.

You will work in conjunction with Kyle Harris, but have all the responsibilities of a department head.  Each CFS student will receive 1 credit for 40 hours of work, plus $500.  You must be able to commute to Fort Collins July 25-28, 2011 and attend production meetings in either Fort Collins or Denver throughout July.

6.     Skills & qualifications:

This is a professional-level teaching-internship opportunity for CFS senior film students.  Past experience teaching filmmaking is not required; only an interest in learning to teach and working with teens!

Looking for a great student that needs a great project

Hello,

Recently, Jeanna Pool's book, Marketing for Solos, became a #1 Amazon bestseller.  Part of the national and international campaign, we did a contest for $100,000 Marketing Makeover for a solo small business owner.  The winner lives in Florida and will be coming to Denver on April 14-17 to work individually with Jeanna and her team.

We are looking for someone to film that experience for us.  This would include footage at the airport, riding in the limo, going to the hotel and meeting Jeanna.  It would also include footage from the training sessions on April 15 and 16 from about 9:30pm-7:30pm on those days. We would want this footage to be edited down into several pieces - making it really dramatic and really fun.  We are picturing something like that is seen on TLC with different camera shots with multiple cameras.

This will obviously be something very creative and fun and would be great for building a portfolio of real-life work.  And we would be happy to give a glowing recommendation as well.

Because of our deadlines, we are looking to fill this role this week, if possible.  Please let me know if you have any questions at all.

Thanks and I look forward to your response.

Best,

Jill Clair

A patent-pending product being reviewed by a major television retailer needs a new infomercial. Several crew positions available.

A patent-pending product being reviewed by a major television retailer needs a new infomercial. The product has changed and the video must be reshot.  This is an opportunity to create something memorable that has a strong possibility of airing on a national network.

I would like to collaborate on writing and storyboarding. Brainstorming and writing have begun. Storyboarding begins soon.

Directing needs to improve. Last time we barely utilized the actors.

An undetermined number of actors are needed. Though most of the video will be VO, I'm considering short speaking scenes.

A voice for VO is needed.

Assistance with sets and a facility would be very welcome. Some shooting outside of a studio would be preferred to capture testimonials.

Cameras, operators, lights and editing are needed.

I will ask that anyone seeking a job signs a non-disclosure. I will sign a talent-release. As the video is product-specific, I have to remain the final decision-maker. I will provide materials for self-promotion after the launch and will help acquire promotional spots for all artists wherever possible dependent on retailer and manufacturer requirements.

The budget is absolutely minimal at this time, but I am willing to pay what I can. The real budget was spent last year on a useless video, but with current retail and manufacturing interest, there's no quitting now.  I have to work with the cash available. Product development is very expensive, and I'm just a regular guy with a great product that has the attention of a major television retailer.

Thank you,

Mickey
