I am doing a documentary shoot in Glendale on June 27th and am looking for a film student or entry-level PA and haven't had much luck figuring out where to list an opportunity like this.

USOC Internship - New Media/Broadcasting
SUMMARY:
The intern's main purpose is to concentrate on creating videos for the New Media Deapartment. This person will create ideas, write for broadcast, shoot, produce & edit the videos.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Functions include, but are not limited to the following:
* Produce videos for the website teamusa.org by:
Creating ideas for video content
Organize the shooting location & talent
Script or outline the shooting & editing of the project
Shoot the project by themselves - including lighting & audio set up
Edit the project on Adobe Premiere
Convert & upload the video file to the web hosting site
* Encode, convert & upload pre-existing footage from various tape formats
* Edit other projects assigned
* Help assist for big shooting events
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:
* Standard office equipment
* Adobe Premiere & Photoshop
* Lighting & audio equipment
* DV Camera
CONDITIONS:
* Non-traditional work hours including weekends and holidays
* Office environment in a multi-story building on a multi-building site
* Non-traditional office environment at games or meeting sites
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master degree program in the fields of broadcasting or communications/journalism/elctronic media
* Have a working knowledge of:
Adobe Premiere & Photoshop
Lighting for interviews
Audio techniques for interviews
Camera operation of prosumer DV camera (DVX100)
* Video Production experience
* Must have proficient knowledge of broadcast-quality cameras, editing skills and be familiar with different tape formats.
* Must be proficicient with Adobe CS3 Suite for Photoshop, After Effects & Premiere, Field lighting and audio knowledge
* Ability to produce/broadcast writing/shoot/edit videos unsupervised.
* Knowledge of copyright laws.
* Knowledge of different file codecs (AVI, MOV, WMV...)
* Intern must work no more than 40 hours per week
* Work at night and on weekends
* Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
* Ability to do all aspects of production from ideas to final product

The AFI Directing Workshop for Women is a highly regarded program which trains and supports women directors. Participants in this competitive program receive funds and resources from AFI to direct a short film, which is showcased to industry professionals upon completion. Many DWW films go on to receive wide recognition in the film festival circuit.

As a writer-director, Lisa has made a number of award-winning shorts; her feature screenplay THE POKER WARS won the Cinestory Screenwriting Awards and was a 2007 Finalist for the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. Lisa is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory and has an MBA from UCLA. She can be reached at lgold@charter.net

Cinereach Seeking Young Filmmakers for $5,000 Fellowship
Cinereach, a not-for-profit dedicated to supporting and producing artful films that depict underrepresented perspectives, cross cultural boundaries, and promote dialogue, is currently seeking applicants for its annual Reach Film Fellowship.
The prestigious six-month program supports young filmmakers with grants, resources, and industry mentors who help guide their short films through all stages of production.
The application deadline is July 15, 2009. Applications and guidelines can be found at http://www.reachfilmfellowship.com/.
Four winning applicants will be awarded $5,000 and be mentored by an established filmmaker. Fellows also receive production support from sponsors, workshops, career coaching, and industry exposure. Industry judges will award an additional $5,000 to the most outstanding film of the four, which will also screen at Cinereach’s annual Reach Out event in the spring.
The fellowship is open to filmmakers who completed film studies programs in 2008 or 2009. This year, self-taught filmmakers may also apply, but are advised to discuss their eligibility with Cinereach staff before submitting an application. Applicants must also be able to reside in the New York Tri-State area from August through April of 2009/2010 to meet the Fellowship requirements.
Cinereach also has a large granting program for emerging and established filmmakers. There are two letter of inquiry deadlines annually for this program, June 1 and December 1. Student video request from MapMyRide.com
MapMyRide.com, a sister site of MapMyFitness, Inc., are looking for a talented and willing student to create a 1-3 minute "How To" video on navigating a portion of our website surrounding a Tour de France cycling challenge we are promoting.
The video would show computer, iPhone and BlackBerry navigation, with voiceover of a provided script, and the possibility of a brief animated or acted-out shot of cycling.
We would also like a relatively quick turnover, with the video in-hand by June 8.
I view this as an opportunity for widespread exposure for the student(s) willing to complete this project, as we have over 1 million users on our community-based fitness mapping site.
I've attached a brief flyer explaining a bit more details surrounding the opportunity, and would much appreciate your passing this along to any students you might see willing and able.
