We’re looking to do some concept videos for our band The Symbols. http://www.thesymbols.net
Eventually we’d like to do a video for each song on our new CD, which are featured on the player at the bottom of our website.
What we’re asking potential videographers to do is to pick a song they like from our site, tell us your concept for a video for that song, and give us a rough guestimate of what the cost to us might be. And remember, we’re on a showstring budget here, so we’re interested more in good ideas and professional looks rather than elaborate sets or costly effects.
We look forward to hearing you.
Musically,
Jasco

Unemployed Mama Needs Help with Producing Wall Street Rap
I need help with a hip hop beat (or something), technology and knowledge to produce a short, simple video of my rap called F --- the Economy.
It expresses the frustrations of unemployment and pokes at Wall Street and personal greed in contributing toward a messed up economy. It is about 2 minutes long.
This rap was inspired by my teen son's music with obligatory expletives coupled with Wall Street concepts. I can pay a small fee (let's talk over coffee) and a few home cooked green chili type dinners. I would love someone with a sense of humor to assist me through a foreign territory.
Thanks!
Tracey Hooker
You can reach my home at 303-847-1681 or home 303-698-1570.

Non-profit community theater group looking for a student to do a 45 second trailer
The Evergreen Players’, a non-profit community theater group in Evergreen, is looking for a student who might like to do a 45 second trailer to promote the Players’ up-coming production of “The Women of Lockerbie.”
This is an award-winning play, based loosely on a true story. It describes a mother's search for her son's remains that were lost in the terrorist bombing of Pan Am 103. Roaming the hills of Lockerbie, Scotland, she meets the women of Lockerbie, who are determined to convert an act of hatred into an act of love. The work deals with serious subjects, including grief and healing, but also is uplifting. The style of the play has echoes of Greek tragedy, with a chorus commenting on the action.
Whoever makes a trailer accepted by the Players will be given two comp tickets to the play, which will be performed Fridays, Saturdays evenings and Sunday afternoons, March 18-April 10, 2011. The trailer will be properly credited, with links back to its creator, and also to Facebook and the Evergreen Players’ own website.
Students who are interested should contact Linda Plaut at Lplaut@comcast.net or at 303-526-0342.

Editors and PAs needed for long term crafty educational videos: Editor: $1700 - $2000 per course, PA: $150/day
Editors and PAs needed for long term crafty educational videos:
Requirements for editing position: Deep knowledge of Final Cut Pro 7, Compressor, After Effects CS5. Organizational know how for file structuring or ability to be able to follow a set structure. This is highly important when working with up to 10 hours of footage for each course shot. Intended output is 3-4 weeks after shooting. This means 40+ hours a week for each course. We will be shooting 8-10 courses between now and June and will need more than one editor as many of these courses are shot back to back and need to be cut simultaneously. Will work with a copy editor to implement lower thirds and side slides as well as animations that reinforce the information being presented. While very straightforward and simple in terms of the overall cut, the titling and graphics process is where the creativity can shine.
Requirements for PA position: Basic lighting knowledge, ability to follow a very strict procedure for logging and binning up to 10 hours of footage and prepare it for immediate cutting after shooting. Attention to continuity is a huge requirement. Set experience is also a must, shoots usually last from 9 am - 7 pm, 3 days at a time, usually occuring Monday-Wednesdays. The material is very long-winded, but we try to keep sets fun and keep the instructor engaged as much as possible so the material does not become dull.
Pay
Editor: $1700 - $2000 per course, depending on experience as well as speed.
PA: $150/day, lunch included.
The PA could also be the editor, having someone carry the project all the way through would be great, but not an absolute.
If you want to look more at the company, you can visit the web site: www.sympoz.com
Inquiries please email me with a resume, online portfolio if you have one (but not a requirement).
Thank you,
