Seeking Editor for HIV Video Project

SEEKING A VIDEO DOCUMENTARY EDITOR!!!!

PROJECT NAME: No Losing Battle: Empowered Voices in the World of HIV/AIDS

LENGTH: 30 min.

PRODUCTION FORMAT: Mini DV HD/STANDARD

PROJECT HISTORY: This video project was initially the assignment of a former high school student at Amandla Charter Academy (a DPD Charter School) and was left incomplete following graduation and the closing of the school. It is a project with strong potential but requires technical and creative time, efficiency, and attention. This project is being produced by the Colorado Department of Public Health and MGVRLC. A small stipend and editing credit will be offered following completion of this project.

Synopsis: Marshelle Oliver and Lavelle Barrett are HIV/AIDS activists living with HIV and have committed their lives to bringing HIV/AIDS awareness and education into the lives of others, including generations of misinformed youth and young adults. This story reveals the passion, pain, the challenges of living with a disease that continues to devastate families, communities throughout the world; and the charge to get people, particularly our youth culture, to wake up and educate themselves about a disease that appears invisible, but is destroying lives everyday. This 30-min educational documentary is being produced by The Colorado Department of Public Health and Montbello/Green Valley Ranch Leadership Coalition. It will be used in high schools and other public health institutions to inform and address the concerns around HIV/AIDS Awareness.
