PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY - SUMMER 2011
1. Title and Description of Organization: Explorati Teen Film & Theater Camp
Explorati Teens is a non-profit youth arts and literacy organization sponsored by Bas Bleu Theatre in Fort Collins, CO. Our mission is to connect Northern Colorado teens 12-18 with the arts via community-building, confidence-inspiring summer day camps featuring professional-level writing, acting, and film and theater crafts education.
The Explorati Teens Film & Theater Camp is our brand new endeavor. This four day camp, July 25-28, 2011, is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for teens to choose their own artistic track: Film Crew, Film Acting, Theater Crew and Theater Acting.
We are partnered with Bas Bleu Theatre and the Colorado Film School, and our Colorado Film School instructor Kyle Harris, actor and esteemed film acting coach Tomas Herrera, Bas Bleu’s own technical director Michael Gorgan, and Stage Acting coach, Andrew Miller. We are also tapping senior film students from CFS to be teacher-interns for our film crew, to help guide the process and mentor the teen techies.
By working with professionals, Explorati Teens delivers an unparalleled program packed with real world skills, plus personal, leadership and team development. From writing to production, the camp will be entirely youth-driven. Our actors will take on the challenge of learning fundamentals, memorizing lines and blocking, rehearsing and performing their roles in a matter of days. Our techies will be responsible for building sets, compiling costumes and props, hanging lights, recording sound, directing the photography and stage managing and/or assistant directing the productions. This is an on-the-job training opportunity!
